Accounts Assistant/Purchase Ledger

Responsibilities Responsible for a Purchase Ledger value of approximately £5 million p/a. Responsible for all Purchase Ledger processes. (expenses, purchase invoices, credit cards). Managing cashbook, postings & reconciliations. Responsible for monitoring the aged creditors analysis to identify overdue accounts. Reconciling supplier accounts. Query Resolution - Investigating and resolving all disputes. Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers & internal departments. Prepare and process supplier payment runs. To provide regular reports on 'problem accounts'. To quickly escalate problems and exceptions to the relevant individuals. Hold weekly/monthly review meetings with Head of Finance. Assist with sales ledger - processing invoices, issuing invoices to clients & electronic filing of invoices. Helping with month/quarter/year end duties. Maintain financials on project management system. Produce reports where necessary. Assist in-house accountant where necessary. Filing & ad-hoc duties. Ideal Candidate AAT Level 3 or above Excellent communication skills, confidence Assertiveness Teamwork & time management skills Able to prioritise and work unsupported when necessary Personnel management skills and knowledge of employment, company and taxation laws Commercial awareness Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Xero (Desirable, not essential)
