Job Description:

Manage human health, medical, and safety functions for system hardware, software, data, and operations to meet requirement in xEVAS-SRD-001, xEVA System Requirements.
Represent HH&M in review boards and meetings in accordance with xEVAS-PM-04, Demonstration Milestone Review Plan and DRD-xEVA-06, Demonstration Objectives representing human health and medical for ISS EVA demonstration and certification. Boards/Meetings: MC Review, CBR, PDR, CDR, Demo/DCR, FTRR, Demo, ORR, and CR.
Provide human systems integration and testing for xEVAS systems: demo suits, flight hardware, Training Suits, Hi-Fi Suit Mockups, EVA appropriate ancillary hardware to MCC-H, and Hi-Fi suit and A/L mockup for development work and classes
Responsible for implementing human-centered design principles and processes during development of the crewed space system.
Development of the human systems testing plan for suit design parameters; EVA consumables and life support parameters; EVA tasks and concepts of operations; EVA informatics and decision support systems; human-suit sensors; anthropometry and suit fit; EVA injury risk and mitigation; hardware evaluations and requirements verification; and decompression sickness risk mitigation.
Development of formal usability tests to gather quantitative performance data or qualitative observations
Develop and maintain the Human Systems Integration Plan (HISP)
Provide human factors analysis for demo suits, flight hardware, Training Suits, Hi-Fi Suit Mockups, EVA appropriate ancillary hardware to MCC-H, and Hi-Fi suit and A/L mockup for development work and classes.
Human factors analysis will include per DRD-xEVAS-ENG-09, Integrated Systems Performance Analysis ISPA

Required Skills:

Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical, Human Factors, System Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university for Education required
18 years in a technical role in projects and programs for Government or Industry customers. for Years of Experience
Must be a US citizen
Must be able to pass a national agency check
Must be able to pass pre-employment and periodic random drug and alcohol screenings.
Expert Human Rating Certification, Human System Integration and Human Factors Analysis
Proficient ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedures
Familiarity with the safety processes, as described in MIL-STD 756.
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite of Tools to prepare reports, presentations, and charts
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to develop excellent working relationships with customers, peers, and management
Ability to perceive organizational and political sensitivities and act accordingly.
Ability to distinguish complexity of interests, exhibit confidence and professional diplomacy, and effectively communicate with internal and external organizations.
Able to work in a matrix-oriented organization with minimum to no supervision.- Able to work in a matrix-oriented organization with minimum to no supervision.

Other Desired Skills:

- Prior experience with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) processes and procedures is highly desired.

- Prior experience working for the military or other major aerospace and space companies.

- Technical knowledge of spacecraft systems and operations (e.g. thermal control, life support systems, suited systems, and hyper- or hypobaric environments field research).
