The Data & Analytics team partners with subscription, advertising and editorial teams to grow revenue and audience, and to inform high-impact strategic and operational decisions. The Chronicle is expanding its data infrastructure to further our mission and business goals. In this role you will serve as both strategist and tactician, working collaboratively across The Chronicle to help product, marketing and sales teams define and implement a diverse set of analytics and reporting solutions aligned to their needs. What you'll do:


Partner & Improve 


  • Collaborate with teams on revenue and audience growth strategies to ensure needed data and metrics are defined and implemented to meet teams' execution and insight needs
  • Help teams improve testing and optimization efforts by designing and implementing analytic solutions across multiple data sources (web analytics, email newsletter, subscription, etc.) 
  • Build expertise in Chronicle data systems, including Adobe Analytics, Tableau and our customer data platform (BlueConic), and help foster a culture of data-driven decision making and experimentation
  • Improve departmental efficiencies by documenting system choices and practices and identifying opportunities to automate or otherwise improve recurring workflows for speed and quality
  • Contribute to data quality and hygiene improvements through ad-hoc data audits, and collaborate on enterprise data governance and technology system roadmaps

Analyze, Report & Recommend


  • Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards for teams and senior executives using Tableau, Adobe and/or other BI and digital analytics tools
  • Help teams gather, analyze and apply data inputs for strategic planning or execution needs, including building target segment profiles, measuring campaigns and forecasting performance
  • Help teams define ad hoc insight needs and design analytic/reporting solutions to address them, e.g., online user behaviors, customer journeys, conversion, optimization and attribution
  • Develop and present evidence-driven recommendations in written and verbal briefings, highlighting clear, compelling insights that inform team decisions and actions
  • Establish best practices for end-to-end digital tagging, tracking and analytics, including key points in the marketing funnel, e.g., online calls-to-action, forms, landing pages, and email campaigns

 

What you'll bring:


Education & Experience 


  • Bachelor's degree plus 2-3 years' or more experience in analytics or business intelligence preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics, Adobe Launch and with Tableau/BI Tools preferred
  • Digital analytics or data analytics certification(s) a plus
  • Experience in media/publishing a plus
