In this role, you will serve as the technical lead for building a digital engineering practice, developing and executing the relevant activities within the solutioning process in support of Business Development, Capture and Proposal efforts across the organization.

For this role, the candidate should possess working knowledge of defense related systems such as large space/ground systems test and integration activities necessary to enable the successful demonstration of operational capabilities in a larger enterprise. As a Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Professional you will provide System Engineering services across all engineering disciplines critical to developing and assembling the operational capabilities into an integrated architecture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify, tailor, and integrate technical capabilities and innovations to address customer needs, hot buttons, pain points and requirements to help shape acquisitions, competitively position SMX, and contribute to winning proposals
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and leads the development of a complete and highest-rated technical solution and price-competitive proposal
  • Lead and contribute to proposal as author and reviewer and identify technical resource needs to support Pre-B&P and B&P activities
  • Coordinate with technical leadership and technical contributors on solution development, proposal writing, and estimating
  • Support capture by presenting corporate capabilities, services, and solutions
  • Participate in development of solutions to problems of unusual complexity that require a high degree of ingenuity and innovation
  • Collaborate with technology business units to craft unique solutions to respond to customer challenges that may also serve as precedents for future opportunities and decisions
  • Support Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities to identify overall System requirements and relationships, and manage the execution of the systems engineering process, including interfaces, key performance parameters, and operational concepts
  • Develop and integrate system models; incorporating inputs from stakeholder requirements, interface documentation, and related design and systems engineering documents
  • Develop operational concepts, requirements, and architectural designs; Evolve system architectures, conduct and analyze requirements flow down, propose verification methodologies
  • Provide mission analysis to support definition of technical requirements and interfaces, provide analysis of alternatives, guide development, and evaluate expected performance against requirements and mission needs
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including senior executive officials, military officers, development contractors, and end users
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Clearance Required: Top Secret
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of specific experience developing model structures, data management/architecture principles or similar systems engineering disciplines
  • Proven experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and architecture frameworks such as Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF)
  • Proven experience with MBSE and other tools to support analysis and visualization
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal communications skills
  • Recognized leader in Digital Engineering (DE)/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with demonstrated experience developing DE solutions to support customers and proposals
  • Demonstrated expertise providing innovative solutions in Systems Engineering; Command and Control (C2)/Situational Awareness, Sensor, and Platform Integration; and Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Experience with edge-cloud environments and capability updates for computing infrastructure
  • Previous experience supporting the DoD Program Executive Offices
  • Extensive proposal experience leading technical solution development on numerous $100M+ opportunities
  • Demonstrated leadership capability to organize and lead teams & expert-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with SAFe methodology
Desired Qualifications:
  • SAFe Practitioner 5.0 (SP) certification
  • Certified SAFe Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Professional Scrum Master (PSM), and/or A-CSM Advanced Certified Scrum Master
