This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.

DEPARTMENT: Office of Information Technology

HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Example of Duties

The ERP FI/LO Functional Analyst will be responsible for gathering business requirements for a wide range of system and process improvements for Finance and Logistics-based departments and sections. This functional analyst will be responsible to meet with stakeholders for requirements gathering and document detailed functional specifications. This analyst will perform configurations for standard SAP solutions as well as work closely with the development team for solutions that cannot be accomplished through standard SAP configurations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the solution meets the requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

High school diploma, GED or equivalent and eight (8) years of experience with Finance & Logistics from a business analyst stand-point.

OR

Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related discipline and six (6) years of experience with Finance & Logistics from a business analyst stand-point.

OR

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline and four (4) years of experience with Finance & Logistics from a business analyst stand-point.

OR

Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, a related discipline and two (2) years of experience with Finance & Logistics from a business analyst stand-point.

Preferences:
  • Experience implementing, designing and enforcing project management methodology and controls.
  • Has experienced at minimum two full-cycle implementations in an ERP and Finance & Logistics-type module.
  • Experience in configuration, documenting, and implementing enhancements to ERP FI/LO and/ or FI/Co modules in support of production activities.
  • Demonstrates understanding of FI/LO functions, processes, and strategies linked to business goals.
  • Hands-on professional experience configuring ERP products for a majority of the following subareas: GL, AP, AR, CM, Funds Management (FM), Grants Management (GM), AM, and SL.

If selected for hire, the appointment in this position will be conditional based upon a satisfactory Municipal Employment Office conducted Background Check (AS 12.62.160 and AS 12.62.400) and a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) FBI Background Investigation. Accordingly it will be necessary for the selected applicant to provide certain identification information and be fingerprinted.

Military Service Interview Preference:

Veterans or who wish to be considered for interview preference as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D must attach to the application a copy of their DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs recognizing the person as a veteran. The attached documentation must show an honorable discharge or general (under honorable conditions) discharge. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.

Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D must attach proof of current service to the application. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individuals command organization and show the name, signature, title and contact information for the signer providing the statement of service. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.
