Public Relations and Communications Manager (Chicago/Hybrid)

We are currently seeking a Public Relations and Communications Manager to join our Marketing and Communications Team. As the Public Relations and Communications Manager you will have a unique opportunity to shape the view of The Fellowship and our work with global humanitarian aid. This position works closely in partnership with Senior Director of Brand Marketing, General Chief Operating Officer and the President and CEO.

Key components of the role include{{-}}
  • Management {{-}} Oversee the day-to-day management of media relations activities. Responsible for management of PR agency, editorial calendar, awards and honors lists. Project manage global working group schedules, events, and activities to ensure media relations objectives are met.
  • Content Development {{-}} Write press releases and op-eds and distribute for approval and release. Develop and manage digital press kits and related marketing materials
  • Strategy and Planning{{-}} Participate in brainstorming and strategic planning sessions. Work with different marketing departments to generate media outreach ideas and opportunities
  • Reporting and Analytics{{-}} Track and report detailed media activity and other key PR metrics in partnership with PR agency-use those learning to help inform KPIs and metrics for ongoing PR and media efforts

The ideal candidate will have at least the following experience and abilities{{-}}

BA degree in marketing, advertising or communications or a PR postgraduate qualification

2 to 3 years' experience in public relations, either in-house or in an agency, is a minimum
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to write compelling copy. Interpersonal skills are critical for developing relationships with external and internal stakeholders
  • Understanding of Christian/Jewish relations
  • Ability to project manage, multi-task and work will under pressure. Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite (365)

Preferred, Not Required
  • Experience in faith-based or humanitarian organization preferred
