We are looking for a highly motivated scientist who wants to grow both professionally and scientifically through the development and application of chemistry, chromatography, informatics, and instrumentation to solve problems in the analysis of a wide range of compounds and application areas. The dynamic role of Scientist offers a balance of laboratory work to generate scientific content using Waters product portfolio and communication of results to support business development and enhance Waters position as a global provider of technology and solutions. This job is a lab-based role which requires working knowledge of standard techniques used in the analysis of biomolecules including chromatographic techniques as well as broad experience with LC-MS/UV instrumentation and informatics tools. Successful candidates will be a highly motivated and collaborative individual that enjoys interfacing with customers and working across Waters research and development, marketing, and management teams to support new product development and commercialization.

  • Developing integrated analytical method using Waters products and systems to solve problems in the analysis of a wide range of compounds. Application areas include characterization of variety of biotherapeutics including mAb, cell gene therapies, LNP, and other emerging drug products.
  • Able to work independently to successfully design, plan, execute studies, develop and document solution to address industry challenges.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team environment.
  • Candidate will use knowledge of trends, industry standards, peer review data to support product commercialization.
  • Some travel (US and global) to attend and present at conferences, provide training and work across Waters technology and solution centers.
  • 3+ years scientific experience in analytical chemistry, biochemistry or a related discipline. MS desired or BS with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Direct experience with separation techniques including RPLC, IEX, HILIC, HIC, IP-RPLC, and/or SEC desired.
  • Direct experience with Mass Spectrometry instrumentation desired with application toward biotherapeutics preferred.
  • Strong pre-analytical sample preparation skills (SPE, LLE, digestion, affinity approaches, etc.).
  • Familiarity with GLP and Non-GLP regulatory guidance and processing of data with quantitative analytical software packages a plus.
  • Ability to effectively document and communicate findings with colleagues and industry peers.
