Philadelphia, PA Essential Duties:
- Become a team member of the Philadelphia office and contribute to the growth and capabilities of the Passenger Rail & Transit Group
- Lead the preparation of track design documents, including plans, specifications, quantities, and design calculations
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members
- Lead delivery of track design tasks, including horizontal and vertical geometry and modeling using InRoads and/or OpenRail software
- Lead the design of track horizontal and vertical alignments, including the processing of survey data, regression analysis
- Prepare special trackwork details for procurement and installation
- Occasionally perform track inspection and fieldwork as needed
Requirements:
- BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- PE license preferred
- Six to twelve years experience specific to track design for passenger rail and/or freight railroad clients
- Understanding of railroad systems (traction power, signals, and communications)
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects
- Fluency in Microstation, OpenRail, AutoCAD, and MS Office
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a cooperative, team environment
